CoreFTP Lite Instructions:

The following is an example of what the Core FTP Lite screen looks like for publishing my pages to the Web.

If you have any trouble connecting to the CIL server, make sure your firewall allows the program to have access. (I went into Norton Internet Security, under Firewall, and added the Core FTP Lite program).

Set up Steps for CoreFTP Lite:

Select New Site:

1) Site Name               Literacy Web Server (or something like that)

2) Host/IP                    www.cil.cs.scranton.edu

3) Username               Your e-mail user name

4) Password               Your password

Click on “Advanced” and enter the Remote start folder:       /public_html

Local Start folder:        your Web folder for Literacy

Click on OK, then on the main screen select “Connect.”

This is a sample of what my screen looks like. When ready to transfer a file, select the file (on the left side of screen), then select the left arrow. The file will then be transferred to the Web server. You should be able to see the file listed on the right hand side of the screen now.

Select ‘File’, and ‘Disconnect’ when finished with the CoreFTP program.

After successful publication, enter the following link in a Web browser,
 replacing ~user name with yours.

        http://www.cil.cs.scranton.edu/~user name

Now you should see your home page. Test all links to make sure they are working correctly.
