Once upon a time, we had a dog named Fido.  Fido was generally a 
very nice dog, but he did not like other dogs.  Indeed, on several
occasions, he attacked Spot, the dog owned by our neighbors.
For that matter, Fido didn't like people, either, a fact to which
our mail carrier could attest!  Numerous were the hospital visits
resulting from Fido's vicious bites!  Fido lived to a ripe old age
of 14 before he succumbed to illness.
